Install, Termux on Android

Termux lets you run Linux as a normal android phone or tablet app. You can use it native, or install standard Linux distros in a proot environment. Either way, you're running Linux so you can install VAM as per the preceding Linux install instructions.

Termux should not be downloaded from the play store (very old version). The most recent version can be downloaded using the Fdroid app or

    https://github.com/termux/termux-app.

Termux-x11 is at

    https://github.com/termux/termux-x11

and you can use the

    https://github.com/orailnoor/termux-linux-setup

script to install a full native GUI.

VAM does not require x11 or a GUI, but being able to run it in in a GUI window can be helpful.
